IWC Releases the Vintage Collections

To commemorate their 140th anniversary, IWC (International Watch Company) recently launched the Vintage Collections at the Geneva 2008 watch fair. Paying homage to the iconic collections that define IWC today, the Vintage Collections captivate the essence of the brand’s history in classic horology and communicate a bold recognition of IWC’s present-day DNA. The automatic movements of the Aquatimer, Da Vinci, and Ingeniuer are engineered with IWC’s patented Pellaton Winding System, while the Portofino, Portuguesse, and Pilot watches have hand-wound, mechanical movements that feature technical remembrances of calibers by FA Jones, one of the brand’s founding fathers.

The IWC Vintage Collections are presented in stainless steel with striking black dials and limited production or in platinum with an elegant silver dial, produced in a limited edition series of 500. Both models are fitted with luxurious alligator or rubber straps, and a steel or platinum buckle decorated with the IWC signature. The new IWC Vintage Collections present iconic designs that pay tribute to the spirit of the original.

Pilot’s Watch Hand-Wound:
“The mother of all IWC Pilot’s watches since 1936.”

Portuguesse Hand-Wound: “A larger-than-life legend since 1939.”

Ingeniuer Automatic: “Safekeeping precision technology since 1955.”

Aquatimer Automatic: “Conquering the seven seas since 1967.”

Da Vinci Automatic: “Since 1969, men too have had a reason to smile.”

Portofino Hand-Wound: “Extravagantly simple. Since 1984.”
