Frédérique Constant selected as Official Timekeeper for The Peking to Paris Motor Challenge

Frédérique Constant has been selected as the Official Timekeeper of The Peking to Paris Motor Challenge, which will be held September 10th through October 16th. The brand will also be the exclusive sponsor of the legendary classic car event, which first took place in 1907.

The origin of the race is from a challenge published in the Parisian newspaper "Le Matin" on January 31, 1907: “What needs to be proved today is that as long as a man has a car, he can do anything and go anywhere. Is there anyone who will undertake the challenge to travel from Peking to Paris by automobile?”

The 2010 edition of ‘The Ultimate Driving Adventure’ runs from the Great Wall in China, through Mongolia, then briefly into Russia before turning south west into Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and via Turkey, Greece and Italy into France to finish on the famous Place Vendôme in Paris. The trail follows the historic Silk Road and the participating drivers will have days off in famed cities such as Almaty and Samarkand.

One hundred sixty five classic and vintage cars, dating from the 1920s to 1960s, with more than 230 drivers and navigators will cover more than 9,000 miles over the course of approximately five weeks during the demanding road rally.

All of the participating cars will display the Frédérique Constant logo, and the winning team’s driver and navigator will receive an exclusive Frédérique Constant timepiece upon their celebrated arrival in Paris.

Frédérique Constant timepieces are available at King Jewelers in both Aventura, FL and Nashville, TN. For more information, please visit http://www.frederique-constant.com and http://www.kings1912.com.
