It was an emotional evening for Kevin Carter as he hosted his 4th Annual Kevin Carter's "Waiting for Wishes" Celebrity Waiter’s Dinner to benefit The Kevin Carter Foundation and The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee at The Palm in Nashville. The celebrity dinner was an exclusive, VIP evening where Carter, NFL teammates, alumni and country music artists were celebrity servers, raising an estimated $125,000, bringing the cumulative total to nearly $500,000 raised during the tenure of the event.

Among the celebrities that served in Carter's honor were country music artists Dierks Bentley, Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts, Joe Nichols, Steve Azar, Andy Griggs and Sugarland along with Tennessee Titans Steve McNair, Keith Bulluck, Drew Bennett, Albert Haynesworth, Tyrone Calico, Peter Sirmon, Rocky Calmus, Chris Brown, Troy Fleming, Rich Gardner, Todd Williams, Tony Beckham, Ken Amato, Jared Clauss, Rein Long, Jason Mathews, Robert Reynolds, Justin Sandy, Jaqua Thomas, Randy Starks, Lance Schulters, Cody Spencer, Lamont Thompson, Kansas City Chiefs Robert Holcombe and Titans Alumni Frank Wycheck, Kevin Dyson and Chris Sanders. AFL Nashville Kats players Dan Alexander, Aaron McConnell and Kats Head Coach Pat Sperduto also joined in the festivities.

"I truly love Nashville and we’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity, love and support this city has shown us," said Carter. "When I arrived four years ago, I had a vision of the man I wanted to be and the impact I wanted to make. I am a better husband, better father and a better man because of my experience in Nashville and I’m eternally grateful to you for helping me make a difference in many lives."

Kevin and Shima Carter created The Kevin Carter Foundation in 2002 to enrich the lives of children focusing on youth and character development. Carter often quotes his father’s saying, "To whom much is given, much is expected" and admits he tries to live by that today. The Kevin Carter Foundation makes a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the primary beneficiary of "Waiting for Wishes" with the proceeds of the event.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

Carter was named the 2005 Titans Community Man of the Year for the third consecutive year due to events and fundraising efforts such as this. For more information, visit his web site for upcoming events and news at www.kevincarterfoundation.org.
